About Leviticus Body Artistry
Leviticus Body Artistry
Your safety is our priority.
Leviticus Body Artistry is the creative lovechild of Necro and Levi. We opened our private studio in 2020, initially in South Cembo, Taguig City (after relocating from Makati). We are now proudly located in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig. Our main goal is simple: to provide a calm, safe, and comfortable place for your tattoo or piercing.
Our path wasn't easy; we were "artists from the ghetto" who built something from nothing. It's just the two of us: Levi handles tattoos, and I, Necro, focus on piercings. We've been professionally working in this field for five years, but if you count all the time we spent learning and practicing, it's been over a decade.
We entered this industry with nothing but the belief that is "May Pera Sa Art". We taught ourselves our skills, though our starting points were different. Levi always loved to draw. For me, growing up, body modifications like piercings were never a big deal. I was always around the tattoo scene, watching the pioneers in the industry. Despite being around tattooing, piercing became my early interest; I started piercing with myself at 13. I didn't apprentice, but I learned a lot just by watching closely. So, when we started, we had some idea of what this job was about.
Starting out was tough. Back then, it was normal to work from our homes. Clients would even come to our neighborhood – a big thanks to everyone who helped us from the start! To get better, we learned a lot from friends, industry professionals, and even our first clients. These experiences, in a way, were what we paid for our learning. When we realized our methods weren't good enough, we quickly started to make everything better – our tools, equipments and especially our knowledge. This wasn't cheap or quick. We invested our own money and countless hours into building what we have today, not just relying on income from early tattoo and piercing works.
Our industry in the Philippines has no real government regulations. This meant there was no official "school" for tattooing or piercing; you either learned from someone else or taught yourself. Our learning took many years, not just a few days. We came from a time when piercing and tattooing methods weren't set by standards or truly modern. We saw old ways firsthand: homemade tattoo machines, and "sterilizing" tools by boiling them in cooking pots. Organizations and Guilds that watched over artists used to be very strict; you needed good skills and tools before they would even think about you. You needed connections to buy what you needed.

Tattoos were often done everywhere – homes, basketball courts, bars. People used to say, "wala sa lugar yan, nasa skills yan" or "we're doing it for the culture." This meant a lot of focus on the art, but not always on safety. Since this was normal, we initially followed this path. But we quickly learned that being good at art is one thing; doing it safely is another. You can be an amazing artist, but if you don't know how to prevent infections, properly clean your tools, or follow safe steps, it's just not enough. As we learned more, we made it our goal to find new ways and stick to the safest practices possible. Today, full knowledge about piercing and tattooing is easy to find; there's no reason for others not to meet high standards. That's why we didn't stay stuck in the past.
What we do might look simple as "tusok-tusok lang". But it's a serious job, a real profession, and a deep business. Building a strong foundation needs deep knowledge and understanding. We know that a lack of proper practices in our field often causes problems: some artists might not value their work enough, offer temporary pop-up services, or even claim to be mentors without truly being qualified. This is a problem we actively work against by always keeping our own work to high standards and by speaking up for good solutions.
At Leviticus Body Artistry, we're different. We've invested for courses on how to handle blood safely and proper cleaning protocols from the Association of Professional Piercers. We also have First Aid and CPR training. We only use the best quality titanium and gold jewelry. Our studio is set up to be very clean, and we use top-notch cleaning equipment. We've designed our space with dedicated rooms for both tattoo and piercing services, a separate room for sterilization, and a wider area for our clients to relax.
Beyond our shop, we are dedicated to helping the safe piercing and tattooing movement grow. We believe art is political, and as artists, we must stand up for what's right and push for better standards for everyone in the industry. Leviticus isn't just a studio; it's our promise to make tattoos and piercings safer and better. It's a place where you can express yourself, and where your ideas truly come to life.
